Question: What does AgResearch molecular biologist Dr Sue Galloway have in common with real estate guru Michael Bulgaris, rugby referee Paddy O'Brien, mortgage broker Mike Pero and former Dunedin Mayor Sukhi Turner?
Answer: They were all selected as inspirational and positive role models to speak at the 2005 Young Leaders Day in Dunedin.
The seminar for secondary school students was one of several run throughout New Zealand by the Young Leaders Foundation. The Foundation works to develop the leaders of the future by exposing students to a diverse range of leadership role models. Sue's participation was the first time that AgResearch has been involved in a Foundation event.
Sue really enjoyed speaking at the seminar. "It was interesting to hear about the different backgrounds people had come from, and yet arrive at very similar views about leadership. The students certainly seemed to enjoy the day and were really buzzing when they left.
